Alice Williams Horvath, 96, was peacefully delivered into God’s arms on February 21, 2021 surrounded by family. Alice is survived by her 2 granddaughters, Brandi and Kerri, of Houston, TX, her sister, Barbara Bristow of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, her sister-in law, Rosemary Williams of St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada and many nieces and nephews. Life long friends that are family, include Herbert and Beverly Green and the Sweeney family of Walnutport, PA. Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Horvath of Palmerton, PA, and her son, Richard “Dick” Horvath of Houston, TX, sisters, Mary L. Hallas of Palmerton, PA, Margaret Williams of St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada, and Bernadette (Bunny) Stamm of Howell, Michigan and brothers, Edward (Edd) Williams of Hockessin, Delaware and Richard Williams (Dune) of St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada.
Born in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada, she met and married Joe, and moved to Palmerton, Pennsylvania. Alice first worked as a secretary for a lawyer and then became a supervisor at a blouse factory. After retirement, Alice was involved in the Alter & Rosary Society of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and enjoyed the life of a loving grandmother.
Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 1152 Oak Road, Walnutport, on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 10-11 am with a Rosary at 9:30 am. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am with internment to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery. Thank you to Harding Funeral Home of Slatington, PA for coordinating these services. In lieu of flowers, you may wish to make a donation in Alice’s memory to a charity of your choice.
