Althea Deiter

Althea Deiter, 82 formerly of Slatington died Friday April 24, 2015at the Summit Nursing Home, Lehighton. She was the wife of the late James M. Deiter, who died in 2007. Born in Slatington, she was the daughter of the late James and Florence (Stehler) Evans. Althea worked at various mills throughout the area. She was also a cashier at the former Shop
N C Store in Berlinsville. Althea was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Slatington.
Survivors: Sons; Lonnie Deiter and fiancé Rosemary Whitmyer of Broadheadsville, James Deiter and wife Roberta of MA. Daughter; Lori and husband John Torgerson of CO. Former daughters-in-law; Tammy Deiter of MA, Pat Deiter of Macungie. 7 grandchildren, 3 great granddaughter. Brothers; Carlton Evans and wife Alice of Clark Summit, James Evans and wife Carol of Walnutport. Nieces & Nephews. Althea was pre-deceased by her son Dennis Deiter.
Services: 11am Wednesday April 29, 2015 Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington. Calling hour 10-11am the funeral home. Interment to follow at Trachsville Cemetery, Palmerton.
