Arlene I. Bowers

Arlene I. Bowers, 89, of Slatington, passed away peacefully on Thursday. November 2, 2023, in her home.   She was the wife of the late Stanley A. Bowers, who passed away in 2000.    Born in Stroudsburg on December 28, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Esther (Gower) Correll.   
Arlene was a dedicated homemaker for many years.  She worked previously for Western Electric and the former Paris Neckware in Walnutport.    She spent her life caring for others and was a life-long faithful member of Friedens UCC, Slatington.  She was also a former member of the Eastern Star.  

Arlene was a devoted mother who will be lovingly remembered by sons: David Bowers and wife Lori of Slatington; Kevin Bowers of Lancaster; Glenn Bowers and wife Amanda of Germansville; daughters: Karen and husband Brian Haas of Slatington; Tina and husband Scott Green of Slatington; Grandchildren: Stephen Haas, Beth-Ann May, Alisha Swass, Tiffany Bowers, Matthew, Michael & Casey Bowers, Veronica & Nathan Green, Kaitlyn & Brandon Bowers; Great-Grandchildren: Ava, Olivia, Adalynn; sister-in-law: Betty Correll, and many extended family members from the Bowers family.   She was predeceased by a brother, Merlin Correll.

In the final years of her life, her family was blessed to have many care workers that treated Arlene like their own family.   They are forever grateful for their commitment and passion to her care.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Friedens UCC, 7227 PA Rte 873, Slatington.  Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 am to 11 am at church.    Interment to follow the service at Union Cemetery, Slatington.   In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Arlene’s name to the church.   Arrangements are being handled by Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
