Arthur Grammes

Arthur W. Grammes, 77, of Slatington, passed away December 20, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Heintzelman) Grammes, they celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary last May. Born in Slatington, he was the son of the late Arthur W. Sr. & Catherine (Edwards) Grammes. Arthur was a 1953 graduate of Slatington High School and was in the United States Army. He worked as a registered professional engineer for the Gilbert Commonwealth in Green Hills/Reading for 17 years. He then worked at PPL for 10 years as a senior engineer in the nuclear department in Allentown and Berwick before retiring in 2001. Survivors: Wife, son, Marc J. & wife Elizabeth Grammes of Slatedale, grandchildren, Timothy, John, Joseph and Laura, brother, Austin Grammes, nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Lewis Grammes

Services: 11:00am, Friday, December 28, 2012 at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St., Slatington. Calling hours, Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 7-8:30pm and 10-11:00am Friday at the funeral home. Interment to follow service at Slatedale Cemetery, with Military Honors.
