Arthur Reed, Jr

Arthur D. Reed, Jr. 74 of Slatington died Friday January 29, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Gouldner) Reed; they celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary last September. Born in Pottsville, he was the son of late Arthur D. Sr., and Catherine (Smith) Reed. Arthur served his country honorably in the US Navy SEALs. He worked as a truck driver for nearly 50 years for various companies throughout the area.
Survivors: Wife; Sons; Scott Allen Reed and wife Tara of Lansford, Wayne Lee Reed and wife Bobbie Jo of Walnutport. Daughters’ Lorrie Reed and life partner Rachel Warner of Allentown, Vickie Reed Eltz and spouse Derek Worman of Slatington. 13 Grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Brother; Mark Reed and wife Mary of Hamburg. Sisters; Betty and husband Lamar Schaeffer of Orwigsburg, Dottie Christman of Reading, and Eva Reed of Minersville. Nieces & Nephews. He was pre-deceased by a son Jeffrey Reed.
Services: 11am Saturday February 6, 2016 Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington. Calling hour 10-11 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
