Barbara J. Finley

Barbara J. Finley, 82, formerly of Walnutport, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023, at the Lutheran Home at Topton.   She was the wife of the late Edgar H. Finley, who passed away in 2005.    Born in Slatington on August 1, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth E. (Brown) Zellner.    Barbara worked for the former Paris Accessories, Walnutport, for 36 years.    She also worked at Becky’s Drive In, Berlinsville for 44 years, where she was affectionately known as the “Hot Dog Lady.”    In her younger years, Barbara was a member of St. Paul’s UCC, Indianland, and sang on the church choir.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons: Noel J. Zellner and wife Sharon of Lehighton, Edgar C. Finley and wife Linda of Palmerton; daughter: Lisa and husband Terry Smith of Walnutport; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters: Charlotte Fritzinger, Elizabeth Osborne, both of Northampton.   She was predeceased by a grandson, Joseph Zellner, and a sister, Ruth Zellner.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington.  Family and friends may pay their respects from 9 to 11AM at the funeral home.    Interment to follow the service at Indianland Cemetery, Cherryville.   Contributions in Barbara’s memory can be made to Dream Come True, Blue Ridge Chapter, c/o the funeral home.
