Bruce Evans



Bruce Evans, 76 of Slatington died Sunday August 19, 2012 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of the late Linda (Rehrig) Evans who died in 2007. Born in Slatington, he was the son of the late Harold and Arvonia (Evert) Evans. He was a US Army veteran. Bruce worked as a driver for UPS for 35 years, and was a member of the 3 million mile club, which was awarded to drivers for their safe driving. Following his retirement, he worked part time as courier for Coordianted Health Systems. Bruce was a member of St John's UCC, Slatington, a member of the Diamond Fire Co, and the Slatington Moose. He enjoyed golfing and breakfast with his friends and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors: Daughter- Cathy and husband Brian Williams of Slatington. Grandchidlren- Christy and husband Dan Keating of Coplay, Brandon Williams and fiancé Audrey Semmel of Emerald, Katie Williams and friend Tyler Evans of Slatington. Brothers- Richard Evans of Wyomissing, James Evans of TX, David Evans of AL. Sister- Louise Nelmes of Bethlehem. Brother-in "?laws- Gary Meckes and wife Anita, Ricky Meckes and wife Ellen. Nieces & Nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother Harold Evans.

Services: 11 AM Wednesday August 22, 2012 Harding Funeral Home 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington Calling hour 10-11 at the funeral home.
