Catherine M. Niedzwiecki
Catherine M. “Kay” Niedzwiecki, 86, of Walnutport passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem. She was the wife of Carl J. Niedzwiecki, whom she married December 5, 1987. Born in Scranton, PA, on January 5, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Schulte and Catherine (Davis) Schulte Ward. Kay was a graduate of Easton Area High School. She was a pre-school teacher in the Easton Area for many years. Kay also taught PSR (Public School Religion) classes at St. Peter’s School in Lorain, OH and the same at St. Nicholas, Berlinsville. A faithful parishioner of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Kay was active as a Eucharistic Minister, the Church Evangelization Committee, and the Reach Out Committee, in addition to singing with both church choirs.
In addition to her husband, Carl, she will be lovingly remembered by son: John Dentith; daughters: Suzie and husband Patrick Farley, Colleen and husband Jeff Kilpatrick; step-sons: Richard Niedzwiecki and wife Marie, Paul Niedzwiecki and wife Brittney; grandchildren: Erin, Ryan, Bryan, Sean, Ashley, Morgan, Courtney, Nathan, Amelia, Lexie, Lizzie, and Marissa; great-grandchildren: Patrick, Tierney, Brayden, Payton, Madison, Ryleigh, Logan, and Mackenzie. She was predeceased by a son, David Dentith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Monday, April 29, 2024, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 4412 Mountain View Dr, Walnutport. Family and friends may pay their respects from 6 to 8PM on Sunday, April 28 at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington and 10 to 11AM on Monday at church. Interment to follow Mass at the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kay’s memory are suggested to either Cay Galgon Life House, 714 W. Broad St, Bethlehem PA, 18018 or Care Net of Carbon County – Lehighton, 531 Mahoning St, Lehighton PA 18235.
