Charles E. “Charlie” Meckes, 58, of Walnutport, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 3, 2024, in his home. He was the son of the late John F. Sr, and Ruth M. (Roberts) Meckes. Charlie was a truck driver for Ascendance Truck Center, formerly 5 Star International. He was an avid modified and dirt car racing fan and served as an official at the Mahoning Speedway.

Charlie is survived by brothers, John F. Meckes, Jr. and wife Jane of Nazareth, Russell A. Meckes and wife Laurie of Slatington; nephews and niece, Russell Jr., Matthew and Holly Meckes; great nephews, John and Seth.

A memorial service will be held at 7pm on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington. Family and friends may visit with the family from 6 to 7pm at the funeral home.
