David S. Everett, 82, formerly of Slatington, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024, at Above & Beyond at The Knights. He was the husband of Sandra L. (Schaffer) Everett. Born in Pittsburgh on October 17, 1941, he was the son of the late Sterling & Alma (Beers) Everett. Dave served his country honorably and proudly as a member of the US Army from 1959-1962. An auto mechanic by trade, Dave was the owner of the former Dave’s Exxon, in Slatington. He then owned & operated Encor Awnings & Windows from the same location for many years before retiring. An active member of the Slatington community, Dave was a member and former president of the Slatington Lions Club, life member of the Slatington Skeet Club, Life member of the Emerald Fire Co. He was a founding member of the Grundsau Lodge Nummer 18. He was also a member of the Oriole Club in Lehighton, Diamond Fire, Co., Walnutport, and the American Legion, Post 16, Slatington.

In addition to his wife Sandra, he will be lovingly remembered by daughter: Marnie and husband Steve Feinour of New Tripoli; and son: Roan Everett and wife Carye of Stewartstown, PA; grandchildren: Ty and husband Tyler Scheuer, Zachary, Brittany & Victoria Everett; great-grandson: Jackson Scheuer; sisters: Eleanor Szacska, Eileen Dietrich, Valeria Procini; as well as many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Milford, Melvin, Arlington, Wilmer, Carl, Gerald and Richard and sisters Joyce and Ruth.

A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11AM at the funeral home. Private interment will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Dave’s memory to the Slatington Lions Club, PO Box 196, Slatington PA 18080.
