Donna M. Hinkle

Donna M. Hinkle, 79, of Slatington, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 20, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late David A. Hinkle, Sr., who passed away in 2008. Born in Northampton on June 24, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Emma (Stranzl) Chimarys. Along with her husband, Donna was owner / operator of the former Dave’s TV’s and Appliances and the Uptown Deli in Slatington. She also worked as an operator at Fernbrook, located in Neffs and Palmerton. Most recently she worked and retired from Northern Lehigh School District as a lunch aide. Donna was an active member of the Slatington Moose Lodge for over 50 years and was a former officer of the Women of the Moose. She was also previously active with Boy Scouts Troop 66, the West End Playground and community activities. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, watching movies and hitting the slots.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter: Debra and husband Lorne Kresge of Palmerton; sons: David Hinkle, Jr. of Allentown, Darren Hinkle and wife Gail of Germansville, Duane Hinkle and wife Melody of Northampton; grandchildren: Amanda and husband Troy Behler, Brad Kresge, Kasey Hinkle, Garrett Hinkle, Evan Hinkle and Amber Hinkle; great-grandchildren: Devin, Madden, Adalyn; siblings: Anthony Chimarys and wife Kathleen of Northampton, Peter Chimarys of AR, Richard Chimarys and wife Jacquelyn of Bethlehem, Veronica and husband Leonard Weiss of NY. She was pre-deceased by siblings, Patsy Oswald and Raymond Chimarys.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30AM on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd Street, Slatington. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11:30 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Donna’s name can be made to the American Heart Association.
