Dorothea C. Hechler

Dorothea C. “Jackie” Hechler, 69, of Slatington, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, in her home. Born in Allentown on May 16, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Clair and Dorothea (Yerashefsky) Morgan. Jackie worked for Good Shepherd Rehab Home in Allentown for many years as the laundry and housekeeping coordinator. She was of the Catholic faith.

She will be lovingly remembered by a daughter: Christine Waterhouse of Slatington; son: Jeremy Smith of Slatington; grandchildren: Kenny, Tiffany, Alanna, Cody, Caydence, Morgan, Kya, Trenton, Jessa, Christian, Liam, Samuel, Kassidy; siblings: Dennis Morgan of Allentown, Rose Laxar of Northampton, Sharon Watkin of Virginia. Jackie was pre-deceased by a daughter, Kim Riveria and siblings, Robert Morgan, Denise Latch, Roxanna Westwood.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11AM at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jackie’s name can be made to Lehigh Valley Hospice, 2024 Lehigh St, Ste 100, Allentown PA 18103.
