Edgar Hess

Edgar C. Hess, 77 of Slatington died Tuesday March 8, 2016 in his home. He was the husband of the Joyce (Kroboth) Hess, who died in 2013. Born in Emerald, he was the son of the late Benjamin A, and Mamie C. (Schleicher) Hess. Edgar served his country honorable in the US Army. He worked for the American Nickeloid in Walnutport for many years before retiring. Edgar was a member of St. John’s UCC, Slatington.
Survivors: Sons; Roger Hess and fiancée Mary Green, Richard Hess both of Nazareth, Todd Hess and wife Nancy of Lehighton. Daughter Sheree and husband Christian Gruber of Lehighton. 5 Grandchildren.
Brother; Benjamin F. Hess and wife Irene of Slatington. Sisters; Caroline Wagner of Walnutport, and Rhoda Burckhart of FL. He was pre-deceased by brothers Francis and Raymond.
Services: 2:30pm Saturday March 12, 2016 Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington. Calling hour 1:30-2:30 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery, Slatington.
