Elisa DelGreco

Elisa DelGreco, 103, of Slatington passed away January 9, 2013. She most recently resided in the Summit Nursing and Rehab Center, Lehighton. She loved to spend time with friends and family. Elisa was fiercely independent and credits her long life to hard work, and faith in God. Elisa was born in the village of "Zupperelli"쳌 Italy in 1909, where she met her husband Frank DelGreco. In 1934 they immigrated to England. After her husband's death in 1988 she decided to live with her daughter Maria, in Slatington. At her 100th Birthday party, held at the Terrace Restaurant in Walnutport, she was surprised when a nephew from England presented her with a card signed by the Queen of England. Elisa lived a full and rewarding life.

Survivors; Daughter; Maria and husband William. Leickel of Slatington. 6 Grandchildren, 8 Great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. She was the oldest of 11 children, 3 of which are surviving.; Sisters; Elena(95) of Italy, Eva (83) of England and her son in law Bruno Picano of Italy. Brother; Lino (82) of Italy. She was pre-deceased by a daughter Anna in 1986.

Service: Mass of Christian Burial 11AM Monday January 14, 2013 Assumption BVM Church, 649 W. Washington St, Slatington. Calling hour 10-11AM at the church. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Slatington. Arrangements Harding Funeral Home, Slatington
