Elizabeth M. Tarafas

Elizabeth M. “Liz” Tarafas, 73, of Slatington, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.    Born in Allentown on November 7, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Evelyn M. (Reaser) Kohler. Liz started out as a stay home mother of 3, later deciding to earn her associates degree in physical therapy at LCCC. She worked as a physical therapist assistant for Sacred Heart Hospital for 30 years, retiring in 2015 to “Gram’s cabin”. 

Liz was a devoted mother and grandmother taking pride in spending time with her family. Whether it was having a family celebration, camping, or passing on family traditions. In her free time, she enjoyed hobbies like crafting, reading, and cross-stitching. Liz always looked forward to girls’ night out with her friends, and even joined a bowling league. You could always find her sitting outside on her or a family member’s porch enjoying the company. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Cheryl and husband Karl Hankee of Slatington, Daniel Tarafas and wife Jennifer of Emmaus, Kimberly and husband Donald Becker of Slatington; grandchildren: Alexis, Sophia, Cassidy, Noah, Devin, Aidan; great-grandchildren: Mollie, Marlee; sisters: Elena and husband Stephen Lalik of Allen Twsp, Eileen Duchala of Schnecksville, Elyse Kernan of Whitehall.

Services will be announced at a later date.   Arrangements are being handled by Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
