Estella S. (Snyder) Tyson of Whitehall, loving mother, and devoted wife, passed away at the age of 84, at Bethlehem South Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bethlehem, PA. Born on June 16, 1940, in Aquashicola, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter Snyder and Marian (Lilly) Snyder. She was predeceased by her brother, Ernest Snyder.
Estella was the wife of Edgar “Mose” Tyson and over the course of their 56-year marriage created a lifetime of wonderful memories. Estella took great pride in and tremendously enjoyed being a mother and grandmother and will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Richard Tyson (and wife Meredith Stone) of Philadelphia, and Todd Tyson of Whitehall, and grandson Torrey Tyson of Whitehall.
She graduated from Slatington High School and worked at Hess’s department store (during its heyday) in Center City Allentown. She took time off to focus on raising a family, briefly sold wedding invitations and then went on to work at Bon Ton distribution center. She enjoyed treating the family to her baked goods (apple dumplings were a big favorite), spending many weekends fireside with family and friends camping, spoiling her house cats with more toys than they could ever dream of, and feeding hungry neighborhood strays (including the occasional skunk). She was always quick to laugh, and her laughter along with her dedication to and great love of family will be greatly missed. Her love will live on in our hearts.
