Fern S. Jones



Fern S. Jones, 88, of Slatington, passed away, June 30, 2009, surrounded by her loving family in her daughter's home. She was the wife of the late Robert B. Jones who passed away in 1990. Born in Emerald, she was the daughter of the late Albert & Mabel (Geary) Roth. Fern worked for General Electric as an assembler for many years before retiring. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Slatington and a member of the Eastern Star.

Survivors: Daughters, Constance & husband Robert Berger & Barbara & husband Darrell Baus, all of Slatington, grandchildren, Robin & husband Paul Yoder, Darin & wife Cathy Baus, Derek & wife Barbara Berger and Trevin & wife Stephanie Berger, great grandchildren, Nathan & Austin Yoder, Donovan, Michael, Dawson, Alec, and Drew Berger, Dillon Baus, step great granddaughter, Courtney Miller, brother, Durelle Roth of Lehighton. Fern was predeceased by sisters, Virginia Altrichter, Doris Strausberger and brothers, Lionel and Lincoln Roth.

Services: 4:00pm, Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the First Baptist Church, 509 Main St., Slatington. Calling hour 3-4:00pm at the church.

Interment: 10:00am Monday, July 6, 2009, Union Cemetery, PA Rte. 873, Slatington. Arrangements: Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd St., Slatington, PA 18080.
