Frederick J. "Fritz"쳌 Snyder, 86, of Slatington, passed away May 3, 2010, in Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Salisbury Twp. He was the husband of Virginia "Ginny"쳌 (Stephens) Snyder, they were married 62 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Miles & Ellen (Strock) Snyder. He was a graduate of Allen High School and while there was named an All State Tackle for football. In 1994 he was inducted to the Lehigh Valley Football Hall of Fame. He was in the Navy during WWII. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from St. Bonaventure University in Olean, NY. Fred taught in Cairo, NY before moving to the Slatington School district where he taught High School U.S. History for many years before retiring in 1983. He coached football at Slatington High School, was a member of the American Legion Post #16, member of the Lehigh River Chorus of Barbershoppers and was an avid golfer. Fred was an active member of St. John's UCC, Slatington serving on numerous committees.

Survivors: Wife, daughter, Karen & her husband John Karwoski of Pottstown, many nieces & nephews. Graveside Services: Friday, May 7, 2010, 10:30am at St. Mark's Cemetery, 103 W. Lexington St., Allentown, PA. Arrangements: Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St., Slatington.
