Gloria Mackes

Gloria A. Mackes, 57, of Walnutport, passed away, Friday, May 10, 2013 in her home. She was the wife of Gary D. Mackes, Sr., they celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary this past year. Gloria was a member of Trinity EC Congregational Church of Walnutport where she was a board member and former bible school teacher. She loved spending time with her dear friends, church members and family. Gloria's hobbies included trips to Lancaster and interaction with the Amish Community and shops, gardening, poetry, reading and collecting Mary Moo's. She was a homemaker for 36 years. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

Survivors: Husband, son, Gary D. Mackes, Jr. of Walnutport, daughter, Corinne J. Mackes of Northampton, grandson, Blake D. Alercia of Northampton.

Services: 11:00am, Tuesday, May 14, 2013, Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St., Slatington. Calling hours 6:00-8:00pm, Monday, May 13, 2013 and Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 10-11:00am at the funeral home. Interment to follow funeral service on Tuesday at Union Cemetery, Slatington.
