Gloria A. Messinger

Gloria A. Messinger, 92, formerly of Walnutport, passed away Sunday August 25, 2024, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of the late Austin B. Messinger, who passed away in 2012. Born in Slatington on August 16, 1932, Gloria was the youngest and last survivor of 10 children born to the late Elwood and Annie (Williams) DeLong. She worked for many years as a seamstress for the former Paris Neckware, Walnutport. 

She will be lovingly remembered by daughters: Judith Haydt of Lehighton, Ellen Neff of Walnutport; grandchildren: April Bollinger and Angela and husband Fernando Torres; great-grandchildren: Kyle, Brandon, Ava, Mia.  She was pre-deceased by her son, Austin H. Messinger in 2011.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd Street, Slatington. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11AM. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Slatington. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either the American Heart Association or the Dementia Society of America, both c/o the funeral home.
