Jacob A. Papay, Sr.

Jacob A. Papay, Sr., 85, of Lenhartsville, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.    He was the husband of the late Marilyn D. (Taras) Papay, who passed away in 2015.   Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Bauer) Papay.   Jacob graduated from Moravian with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree.    He was the owner / operator of Queen City Tire in Wescosville from 1968-2017.    Prior to that, he worked for Texaco, and also for the family business, the former Penn Big Bed Slate Co., Slatington.

He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Jacob A. Papay, Jr. of Annandale, NJ; his grandchild: Zoe, his brother: David Papay of Slatington and many nieces & nephews he loved dearly.   He was predeceased by brothers, John & Peter Papay.

A memorial service will be held at 3PM on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington.  Family and friends may pay their respects from 1 to 3PM at the funeral home.   In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105 or Forgotten Felines & Fidos, 6022 Mountain Rd, Germansville PA 18053.
