Jacqueline J. Ulshafer

Jacqueline Joy Kern Ulshafer, 87, of Allentown passed quietly with her children by her side on August 1, 2022. 

Among her many joys in life, you could find Jackie outdoors whenever the sun was shining either gardening or working on her tan.  She loved the beach and trips to Seaside Heights, NJ were special times for her.  And simple pleasures such as drives in the countryside, dinners with family & friends, her love of music & dancing, her love of Nascar races and Eagles football, shopping for bargains and a special fondness for sweets and snacks which she enjoyed sharing with friends and anyone nearby. 

Jackie was a talented hairdresser, running her own salon for many years even with 5 young kids underfoot. She never left home without dressing to impress – her clothing and jewelry impeccably matched and hair and make-up always done to perfection.  

Jackie was the daughter of Frederick C. Kern and Irene Jane Serfass Kern of Slatington, PA.  She is survived by her sister Charlotte Kern Campbell of Slatington, PA, and brother Richard Lilly and wife Paula of Ocala, FL.  She was predeceased by her sisters Judith Ann Lilly Mielke and Marilyn Ruth Kern Newhard.

She is survived by her daughters, Lita Peters and husband Ken, Holly Boyer and husband David, Keely Worman and husband Thomas, and her son Baron Ulshafer and his wife Norma.  Her youngest son, Tucker, passed in 2017.

Grandchildren: Jason Bubbenmoyer, Tyler Worman, Carly Worman, Robert Ulshafer, Rebecca Ulshafer, David Peters and Scott Peters.  She had 10 great grandchildren.

A private graveside service to be held in September at Union Cemetery in Slatington, PA.  Arrangements are under the care of Harding Funeral Home, Slatington, PA
