James Gaston

James M. Gaston, 69, of Walnutport, passed away June 4, 2013 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Janet R. (Snyder) Gaston, they celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary this past November. Born in Walnutport, he was the son of Ruth A. (Rice) Gaston of Lehighton and the late Monroe J. Gaston. James was the founder and operator of Walnutport Door Co & Walnutport Construction. He built numerous townhouses and homes in Walnutport, he was part owner of Best Plaza and built both Slatington and Walnutport Fire Company buildings. He was a member of the Emerald Fire Company and a member of St. Paul's UCC of Indianland Church.

Survivors: His wife, Janet, mother, daughters, Jamie & husband Alden Farber of Slatington, Jessica Gaston & fiancé Douglas Long of Emerald, grandchildren, Nathan & Ryan, brother, Charles "Nup"쳌 Gaston of Walnutport, sister, Grace & husband James Williams of Slatington. James was predeceased by his sisters Mae Benner & LaRue Gates.

Services: 11:00am, June 10, 2013 at St. Paul's UCC, 787 Almond Rd., Cherryville, PA, 18035. Calling hours, 6-8:00pm, June 9, 2013 at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St., Slatington and 10-11:00am, June 10, 2013 at the church.
