Jean D. Stever

Jean D. Stever, 99, of Walnutport, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family in her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Ervin Stever for many years until his passing in September of 1991. Born in Palmerton, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Katie (Rehrig) Yehl.
Jean dedicated many years to R.C.A in Harrison, NJ, and later Hess Brothers Department Store in Allentown before cherishing a well-deserved retirement.  A pillar of faith, she was a devoted member of the United Presbyterian Church of Slatington, where she served selflessly for many years as a parish deacon.  Jean also found joy in fellowship with the Walnutport Senior Citizens.  Above all, family meant the most to her. Jean's heart overflowed with love for her family, she treasured every moment spent with those closest to her. Jean leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, and her memory will be forever cherished.
Leaving behind a legacy of love, Jean is survived by her devoted daughter, Donna, wife of Terry Schleicher of Walnutport; two grandchildren, Steven Schleicher and wife, Jodi, and Vickie Ryba. Her memory will also be cherished by her three great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild. 
Those who knew and loved Jean are invited to a funeral service at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Harding Funeral Home, Inc., located at 25-27 N. 2nd St., Slatington, PA 18080.   Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to United Presbyterian Church (6750 PA-873, Slatington, PA 18080) in Jean's memory.
