John Green, Jr

John L. Green, Jr. 55 of Palmerton passed away Wednesday August 31, 2016 in his home. He was the husband of Patti A. (Kemp) Green; they celebrated 31 years of marriage last May. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late John L. Green, Sr. and Joan (Hinkle) Serfass wife of Barry Serfass of Palmerton. He received a certificate from the Welder Training & testing Institute. John worked as a research technician for Air Products. He was active with Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts. John was a Towamensing soccer coach, and he volunteered at the Palmerton Food Bank and for Habitat for Humanity. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Slatington.
Survivors: Wife, Daughters; Kirsten Green of Bethlehem, Carolann Green of Palmerton. Sons; Jonathan & Teegan Green both of Palmerton. Brothers; Kevin Green,, James Green both of Palmerton. Step-sisters; Sheila Serfass of Bethlehem, Cindy Hunter of Lehighton. Step-brother; Chris Serfass of Lehighton. Dog; Reese. Step mother-in-law; Kathy Kemp, wife of the late Richard P. Kemp. Brothers –in-law; Richard D. and Mark W. Kemp. Nieces & Nephews. He was pe-deceased by grandparents Charles & Emma Hinkle, and Ralph and Gertrude Green, and brother-in-law; Brian E. Kemp.
Services: 7pm Tuesday September 6, 2016 Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington. Friends and Family may call from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
