John C. Troxell, 79, of Northampton, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Miller) Troxell, whom he married on November 23, 1968. Born in Slatington, on November 23, 1943, he was the son of the late Mark and Ruth (Frantz) Troxell. John worked for various local foundries and retired from Martin Sprocket & Gear in 2003. John was a member of the SAL at the American Legion Post, 16, Slatington, and was a lifetime member of the Slatington Skeet Club. He attended St. John’s Lutheran Church, Slatington.
In addition to his wife, Shirley, he will be lovingly remembered by daughters: Shirl and husband Henry Taschler of Lehighton, Pamela and husband David Imler, Sr., of Kunkletown; son: John C. Troxell, Jr. of Northampton; grandchildren: Stephen Tomsic, Jr., Joshua Tomsic, Garrick Tomsic, David Imler, Jr., Mark Imler, Amie Troxell, Andrew Troxell, Austin Troxell, Adin Troxell, Adrien Troxell, Brittany Karper, Jamie Tashcler, Stephenie Ahner; Great-Grandchildren: Gabriella, Annabelle, Hayden, Clarissa, Isabelle, Addilynn, Noah, Toby, Damien; brother: Kenneth Troxell of Slatington; sister: Kathy and husband Willard Burns of Nesquehoning. He was pre-deceased by a grandson, Adam Hughes, and siblings, Willard “Billy”, Richard, Donald, Ronald Troxell, and Donna Hartongue.
A graveside will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Fairview Cemetery, Slatington. No Calling hours. Arrangements are under the care of Harding Funeral Home, Slatington. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Lung Association, c/o the funeral home.
