Kathy J. Kunkle

Kathy J. Kunkle, 66, of Walnutport, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Lehighton after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.   She was the wife of Randy R. Kunkle, whom she married April 17, 1976.   Born in Bethlehem on October 26, 1956, she was the daughter of the late William Strohl and Barbara (Nicholas) Ruch.    Most recently Kathy worked for Miller-Keystone Blood Center as an administrative assistant for nearly 15 years.  Prior to that, she worked for Peerless Insurance and Nationwide Insurance.   Kathy was an avid gardener, lover of animals, prodigious reader,  and a kind soul who adored her family.    She could often be found baking with her granddaughter or cheering her grandson on at a sports game.
In addition to her husband Randy, she will be lovingly remembered by daughter: Tara Kunkle and her partner Stephanie Struble of Northampton; son: Adam Kunkle and wife Amy of Slatington; grandchildren: Ethan and Brandi; brothers: Mitchell and Richard Strohl, Stanley and Christopher Ruch.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington.  Family and friends may visit with the family from 10 to 11AM.    Burial will be private.    In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kathy’s name are suggested to Forgotten Felines and Fidos, 6022 Mountain Road, Germansville, PA 18053.
