Loretta V. Kropf

Loretta V. Kropf, 90, formerly of Walnutport, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of the late Edward G. Kropf. Born in Slatington on November 7, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Charles Dorward and Viola (Berger) Cassey. Loretta was a faithful parishioner of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Walnutport. She was a housewife for the majority of her working years. She did previously work for former local mills including Halsen’s and Peischlers. An avid bingo player, Loretta enjoyed playing every Saturday & Sunday.

She will be lovingly remembered by a daughter: Patricia and husband John Hydro of Treichlers; son: George Kropf and wife Debra; grandchildren: Natalie (Hydro) Leibensperger and husband Geoff, John Hydro, Jr., and partner Christopher Banaszek, Jennifer (Kropf) Haas and husband Stephen; great-grandchildren: Ava & Cameron Leibensperger; step-brother: James Dorward.   She was pre-deceased by a baby, Edward G, Jr., and siblings, Mabel and Gladys.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 4412 W. Mountain View Dr, Walnutport PA 18088. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11AM. Burial to follow at the parish cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Harding Funeral Home, Slatington. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Loretta’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research c/o the funeral home.
