Margaret M. McGonigle

Margaret M. McGonigle, 89, of Whitehall, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Fellowship Manor.   She was the wife of the late Joseph V. McGonigle, who passed away in 1983.   Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Mary (Kelly) Baclasky and stepdaughter of Stephen Barbush.   Margaret worked as a switch board operator for Bell Telephone (AT&T) for many years.   She was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Whitehall.     Margaret was a former assistant Girl Scouts leader and Cub Scouts Den leader.
She is survived by sons: Thomas McGonigle of Fairfax, VA, Daniel McGonigle and wife Tina of Newark, DE; daughter: Joanne and husband Kevin Gaughan of Reston, VA; grandchildren: Katherine, Stephen (Anna), and Vincent McGonigle, Jimmy and Jack Gaughan, Jenn and Jeff Schatz, Ian and Nathan Bowler; daughter-in-law: Kim McGonigle.   Margaret was predeceased by her son, Michael McGonigle; daughter-in-law, Monica McGonigle, and brothers Robert and William Baclasky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Friday, October 21, 2022, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 3024 S. Ruch Street, Whitehall.   Family and friends may pay their respects from 10:00 to 11:000AM at the church.   Interment will follow mass at the church cemetery.   Arrangements are in the care of Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.   In lieu of flowers, contributions in Margaret’s name are suggested to Mercy School for Special Learning 860 S. Woodward Street, Allentown PA 18103
