Margaret Parry

Margaret Parry, 93, of Walnutport, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, in her home.   She was the wife of the late Curtis B. Parry, who passed away in 1980.   Born in Walnutport on September 15, 1928, she was one of eleven children born to the late Joseph and Rose (Neubauer) Nierer.  Margaret worked as a sewing machine operator for various local factories including Gloria’s Manufacturing and Scotty’s Fashions.   She then worked at her daughter’s bridal shop, Carol’s Bridal Choices in Treichlers, doing bridal alterations.   She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Slatington.
She is survived by a son: Larry Parry and wife Sherrill of Walnutport; daughter: Carol and husband Jim Rohrman of Apache Junction, AZ; Grandchildren: Steve Parry, Monica Bierman, Travis A. Carlton, Douglas W.C. Carlton, Angela Friebolin, Amy Swiatkowski, Ashlie Eckert; 14 great-grandchildren; sister: Helen Williams of Virginia Beach, VA.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Connie Hankee.
A memorial service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington, PA.  Family and friends may visit with the family from 1 to 2PM.  Burial of cremains to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Slatington.
