Marion Benninger

January 11, 1933 — January 24, 2017


Marion Charlotte (Wagner) Benninger, 84, died Tuesday January 24, 2017. She was the only child of Charles and Sarah (Dotter) Wagner. Born in Palmerton and graduated Class of 1951. She married Carl Henry Benninger (1928-1993) of Walnutport in humid August 1955 after Hurricane Agnes. She worked at General Electric in Allentown until 1958 when she and Carl moved into the remodeled Benninger School in Lehigh Township and began their family. She was a member of Palmerton Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and spent much of her time sharing bible insights with others. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling, and engaging in a lifetime fascination with owls.
Survivors: Daughter; Brenda Pittman of Lancaster, Sons; Charles and wife Susan of Coplay, Timothy of Walnutport. Niece; Kathryn Fogle of Treichlers, Nehphew; Thomas Fogle of Philadelphia. Many cousins and their families.
Services: 2pm Saturday February 4, 2017 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 8100 PA Rt 873, Slatington 18080. Family and friends are invited after to Friedens Fire Company, 3158 Friedens Rd, Slatington 18080 for refreshments.
