Mildred E. Binder

Mildred E. Binder, 95, of Walnutport, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus.   She was the wife of the late George W. Binder, who passed away in 2011.   Born in Walnutport on May 2, 1928, she was the last surviving child born to the late Roland and Helen (Hunsberger) Wieand.    Mildred worked as a sewing machine operator for various garment factories.  She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Cherryville.   

She will be lovingly remembered by her son: Randall G. Binder; daughter: Patricia M. and husband Daniel Neff, both of Walnutport; Daughters-in-law: Louise Binder, Susan Binder; 11 Grandchildren; 36 Great-Grandchildren; 8 Great-Great-Grandchildren.   She was pre-deceased by sons, Dennis A. Binder, Jerry Lee Binder, and grandson, Jason Binder.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Hope Lutheran Church, 4131 Lehigh Drive, Cherryville, PA.    Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:30 to 11AM at church.   Interment to follow the service at Indianland Cemetery.    In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either Hope Lutheran Church or Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 28 West 44th St, Suite 609, New York, NY 10036.   Harding Funeral Home, Slatington is honored to handle Mildred’s arrangements.
