Mildred I. Zellner

Mildred I. Zellner, 89, formerly of Slatington, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Liza’s House Personal Care Home in Danielsville.    She was the wife of the late Erwin E. Zellner for 63 years prior to his death 2017.   Born in Slatington on April 25, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Russell R. and Myrtle M. (Rex) Kern.   She was employed at many places including the 5 & 10, Cab Stand, Overdorf’s Store in Slatington, Hess’ Brothers, Woolworths.   Mildred also worked many years in the cafeteria of Northern Lehigh School District.    She was a faithful member of St. John’s UCC, Slatington, and a member of the Slatington and Walnutport Senior Citizens.

Mildred will be lovingly remembered by sons: Dennis K. Zellner and wife Sharon, Brian L. Zellner and companion Sally Houser, Daniel W. Zellner and wife Annette, all of Walnutport; daughter: Cynthia L. and husband Donald Craft of Schnecksville; Grandchildren; Kimberly and husband Randy, Tracy and husband Chad, Ryan and wife Heather, Cory, Ariel and husband Marc, Autumn, Stephen and his wife Jaime, Ryan.  Great Grandchildren; Gage, Jada, Jenna, Jacob, Carter, Tristan, Wyatt, Jayson, Desirae; brother: Russell Kern; sister: Ruby Trostle.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Karen L. Stettler, grandson, Jeremy Stettler, and brothers, Raymond, Henry, and Harold Kern.

A funeral service will be held at 2PM on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington.   Family and friends may pay their respects from 1 to 2PM.   Interment to follow at Union Cemetery, Slatington.   In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. John’s UCC General Fund, 15 S. 2nd Street, Slatington PA.
