Nancy E. Lavenburg, 89, of Northampton and formerly of Lehighton, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 in Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem. She and her husband, William J. Lavenburg, shared 27 years of marriage until his passing in 1985.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Ray and Tillie (Deutsch) Andrews. Nancy served her country honorably in the U.S. Women’s Army Corps (WAC) as part of the Military Intelligence Group in Germany during the Korean Conflict. She cared for her family for most of her life, but she also briefly worked at the Howard Johnson Motel in Allentown and as a Home Health Nurse’s Aide at the VNA.
Nancy was a life member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, attending most recently in Walnutport. She truly cared for others around her, showcased by her ability to foster 17 children in her lifetime.
Survivors: Son, Dan F. Lavenburg and his wife Ann of Walnutport; daughters, Melanie F. Kern of Lehighton and Shawn Weber and her companion Bruce Weaver of Northampton; 2 grandchildren, Billy and Brandon; 3 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Derek and Jordan; several siblings. Nancy was preceded in death by a son-in-law Richard Kern.
Services will be private at Nancy’s request. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harding Funeral Home, Inc. in Slatington.
