Nina Harwi

Nina L. Harwi, 84, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother of Slatington, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.  She was the wife of the late Robert J. “Skip” Harwi, who passed away in 2016.  Born in Palmerton, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Mary (Kleintop) Wentz.   Nina was employed for the State of Pennsylvania working as a claim’s adjustor for the unemployment office.   Prior to that, she worked briefly for the former Siegel’s in Palmerton.   She was a member of Friedens UCC, Slatington.  She enjoyed many trips to the local casinos.

She is survived by a s son: Robert J. Harwi II, and wife Cindy of Fleetwood; Daughters: Cynthia L. wife of Randy A. Biege, Slatington, Cathi J. Zellner, Whitehall, Lisa A. and fiancé Dennis H. Laudenslager, Allentown;11 Grandchildren and 7 soon to be 8 Great Grandchildren; Brothers: Richard Wentz of NC, William Wentz of Lehighton.  She was pre-deceased by a granddaughter Amanda Mack and sisters Nancy Lowright and Barbara Hudson

A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington.   Calling hour 10 to 11 A.M. at the funeral home.
