Paul J. Batt, 80, of Schnecksville, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, November 29, 2024. He was the husband of Alice L. (Cassidy) Batt, whom he married April 1, 1967. Born in Buffalo, NY, on October 18, 1944, he was the son of the late James H. and Margaret I. (Kelly) Batt.
Paul received his BA from the University of Scranton after graduating from St. Joseph’s Preparatory School in Philadelphia. He worked in purchasing for a number of different companies and organizations, including REA, American Airlines, Marriott, Amtrak, Holiday Inn, Smithkline Beecham (as Head of Worldwide Procurement) and Illinois Hospital Association (as Senior Director of Purchasing). His eagerness for new challenges and opportunities brought him and his family to Yonkers, NY; Wheaton, MD; Park Ridge, IL; Memphis, TN, Philadelphia, PA, and Naperville, IL, before he retired to Schnecksville. He was an avid golfer and loved to travel, especially on cruises with his wife.
Paul was a former member and president of the Jaycees in Park Ridge, IL; a member of the former Blue Ridge Country Club, Palmerton, and the Woodstone Country Club, Danielsville; and a faithful parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Egypt.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Alice; his children Alice Batt (John Benner), Linda Batt, Paul J. Batt, III (Karina), and J. Douglas Batt (Jennifer); 4 nieces and nephews, and 7 grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings, Kathleen Smith and James Batt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 4102 S. Church St, Whitehall, PA. A viewing will be held on Dec. 5 from 6-8pm at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd St., Slatington, PA, 18080.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Preparatory School in Philadelphia, c/o the funeral home.
