Paul J. Leickel

Paul J. Leickel, 66, of Walnutport, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Carbon Campus.   He was the husband of Karen L. (Parsons) Leickel, whom he marred August 14, 2010.   Born on August 4, 1956 in Buckinghamshire, England, he was the son of William and Maria (DelGreco) Leickel of Slatington.  Paul was a graduate of Slatington High School, Class of 1974, and then attended LCCC.    Paul served honorably and proudly as a member of the US Air Force from 1974- 1977.  For 33 years, Paul worked for Sherwin Williams Paint, as a manager of the Whitehall store and also as a floor representative before retiring in 2018.   He was a member of the American Legion, Post 16, Slatington, The Diamond Fire Co., and the Slatington Skeet Club.

In addition to his wife and parents, Paul is survived by step-sons: Kenneth Phillips of Gulf Port, MS, Michael Phillips of Fleetwood; step-daughter: Kristi Youst of Walnutport; 6 step-grandchildren; brothers: John Leickel of Slatington, Frank Leickel and wife Lynn of Walnutport; sister: Maria and husband Daniel Loch of Coplay; as well as many nieces & nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington.   Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11am.    Interment will be private.    In lieu of flowers, contributions in Paul’s memory can be made to the Walnutport Canal Association, or the Multiple System Atrophy Coalition, c/o the funeral home.
