Pauline E. Berger Leindecker, 102, formerly of Slatington, passed away Sunday April 7, 2024, at Liza’s House, Danielsville. She was the wife of the late Wallace Berger and Eugene Leindecker. Born in Palmerton on August 27, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Charles Behler and Elsie (Silfies) and her husband George Smith. Pauline was a graduate of Palmerton High School Class of 1939. Pauline worked at various local mills, including Nick’s Fashions, where she served as Union Chair Lady. She was a faithful member of the Slatington Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Rose Croix Chapter 235, and Amaranth.
Pauline will be lovingly remembered by her sons: Wallace H. Berger and wife Patricia of Mahoning Twsp, Maurice A. Berger and wife JoAnn of Blakeslee, Gerald C. Berger and wife TruAnn of Orefield, Robert S. Berger and wife Constance of Slatington; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; Stepsister: Virginia Taylor. She was pre-deceased by a grandson, Mark Berger, siblings, Alvin Behler, Kenneth Behler, and Betty Cressman and stepbrother, Wilbur Smith.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11am at the funeral home. Interment to follow the service at Union Cemetery, Slatington. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Slatington Baptist Church
