Phyllis Y. Sigley

Phyllis Y. Sigley, 84, of Slatington, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, in her home.   She was the wife of the late Frederick W. Sigley, who passed away in 2010.   Born in Palmerton on September 2, 1938, she was one of seven children of the late Ray M. and Fern J. (Easterday) Kistler.    Phyllis was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Slatington, where she participated in the church choir and was a Sunday School Teacher.   Phyllis was also a member of the Slatington Senior Citizens.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons: David M. Sigley and wife Christine, Fred S. Sigley and wife Stephanie, both of Slatington; grandchildren: Derek and wife Amanda, Breann and husband Robert, Kristen and husband Brandon, Adam and wife Michelle, Kayla and husband Justin and Alex and fiancé Erica; great-grandchildren: Tyler, Kaylee, Blake, Aiden, Chloe, Noah, Sadie; brothers: Ricky Kistler of Slatington; Glenn Kistler of NC; sister: Donna Kistler of Orefield.  She was pre-deceased by a son, Randall Sigley and his wife Connie.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Monday, May 8, 2023, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 40 S. 2nd Street, Slatington.   Family and friends may pay their respects from 6 to 8PM on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington, and 10 to 11AM Monday at church.  Interment to follow the service at Union Cemetery, Slatington.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. John’s Lutheran Memorial Fund.
