Raymond R. “Ray” Bartholomew, 81, of Walnutport, formerly of Allentown, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Carol S. Weaver, whom he married May 16, 1992, and the late Barbara (Repp) Bartholomew.  Born in Allentown on February 5, 1943, he was the son of the late Raymond A. and Margaret (Resh) Bartholomew. Ray was a graduate of Dieruff High School, Allentown. A proud US Marine, he served during the Vietnam War. Ray spent most of his career with industrial equipment in the pollution control area, initially working with the installation and repair of the equipment before transitioning to sales.

In addition to his wife Carol, he will be lovingly remembered by a son: Ronald Bartholomew and wife Jennifer of Plainfield, NJ; daughter: Rebecca Haldeman of Victoria, TX; grandchildren: Benjamin, Wyatt, Taylor, Ashley, Samantha, Piper; 4 great-grandchildren; brother: Kermit Bartholomew and wife Carol of Shillington; sister-in-law: Marcia Bartholomew; Carol’s nieces: Jessica Rex, Lauren Scanlon, Katherine Rex; mother-in-law: Doris Weaver; as well as nieces and nephews on the Bartholomew side.  He was predeceased by siblings, Richard, Walter, Victor, William, Margaret Ann Bartholomew.

A Celebration of Ray’s Life will be announced at a later date with a private family burial including military honors at Indianland Cemetery, Walnutport. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Walnutport Canal Association, 309 Lehigh Street, Walnutport PA 18088.
