Raymond Becker, Jr

Raymond S. Becker, Jr. 83 of Luther Crest Community, formerly of Northampton, died Tuesday May 19, 2015 in his residence. He was the husband of Myrtle G. “Micki” (Gootee) Becker; they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last June. Born in Reading, he was the son of Raymond S. Sr. and Mildred K. (Witman) Becker. He was a US Army veteran who served during the Korean War. Raymond was a band director for the Allentown School District for 16 years last teaching at Dieruff High School. Prior to that, he was a band director in the Northampton Area School District for 16 years. He was the director of the Marine Band of Allentown for 44 years, a member of the Jordan Lodge F & AM, and a past secretary of the former Blue Ridge Country Club in Palmerton.
Survivors: Wife, Sons; Raymond Becker III and wife Janet of OK, Matthew B. Becker and wife Brenda Weckerly of Hatfield. Daughters; Marcia and husband Thomas K. Heinick of Kunkletown, Ronda and husband Matthew Gerry of Schnecksville. 13 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren. Sister; Barbara Stone. He was pre-deceased by a brother Barry G. Becker
Services: Memorial Service 11am Saturday May 23, 2015 St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8227 Hamilton Street, Trexlertown PA 18087. Calling period 9-11am at the church.
