Raymond T. “Butch” Sell, 64, of Slatington, passed away Monday, March 6, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. Born in Allentown on September 5, 1958, he was the son of Frances (Sheckler) Sell and the late Darwin Sell. Butch was a Fluorine Operator and Supervisor for Hometown Air Products for over 30 years, and retired in September 2017.
He was the husband of Pamela A. (Moser) Sell, whom he married on April 28, 1979. Being that he married his high school sweetheart, they would have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary this year. Butch and Pam built a strong life foundation for their two girls, Robyn and Renee, who were their endless sources of pride. He also enjoyed adventures with his three energetic grandchildren.
Butch lived life to the fullest and lived it by his own terms. He was an avid golfer and drummer. He had many passions in his life including traveling, going to the beach, fishing, bird watching, antiquing, hiking, star gazing, four wheeling with his Jeep and was a cat wrangler with his laser light. He also was a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan. But most of all, he enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends and memories he created over the years, especially the pranks he pulled on others. He will be greatly missed by so many people.
He now gets to enjoy endless tee times with his father and uncle, along with weekly sausage breakfast sandwiches with his grandfather. He will also be enjoying the growls and endless kisses from Elvis, his chihuahua.
In addition to his wife and mother, he will be lovingly remembered by his daughters: Robyn Barbosa of Palmerton, Renee and husband Bryan Litzenberger of Coplay; grandchildren: Joseph Barbosa, Paige & Calvin Litzenberger; brothers: Robert Sell and wife Paula of Lawrenceville, PA, Rick Sell and wife Christine of Elizabethtown, PA, Richard “Smiley” Sell and former wife Nancy of Catasauqua, Randy Sell and wife Rose of Catasauqua; many aunts & uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather and greet the family from 11AM to 12PM on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Butch’s name can be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation www.garysinisefoundation.org.
