Richard W. Frantz, Sr.

Richard W. Frantz, Sr., 87, of Slatington, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of the late Barbara E. (Lewis) Frantz, who passed away last December. Born in Slatedale on February 24, 1937, he was the son of the late Willard and Dorothy (Pugh) Frantz. Richard received his BA from East Stroudsburg University, and an MA from the University of Penn. He worked his entire career as a physical therapist. Most recently as an outpatient home physical therapist for various home agencies. He was the former athletic trainer for Northern Lehigh School District.

He will be lovingly remembered by sons: Richard W. Frantz, Jr., and wife Rhonda of Slatington, Michael Frantz and wife Rose of Slatington; daughter: Michelle “Shelly” and husband Michael Galio of Slatington; grandchildren: Casey, Garrett, Allison, Megan; 7 great-grandchildren; nephew: Bryan Frantz. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Robert Frantz.

Private family services will be held. No calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by Harding Funeral Home, Slatington. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either American Cancer Society or St. John’s Lutheran Church, both c/o the funeral home.
