Roger Bachman

Roger L. Bachman, 68, of Slatington, passed away April 20, 2012 in his home. He was the husband of Nancy Ginger F. (Frech) Bachman, they celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary this past August. Born in Heidelberg Twp., he was the son of the late Correll H. and Arlene J. (Rauch) Bachman. Roger was the owner/operator of Rogers Auto Parts in Slatington for 33 years before retiring in 2001. He was a past Director of the PA Automotive Wholesalers Assoc. in Mechanicsburg, PA. He was the past president of Slatington Lions Club, where he received the Melvin Jones Award, a member of Slatington Lodge #440 F & AM, Lehigh Consistory, Rajah Shrine, Hillbillies, Lehigh Shrine Club, Hogans, Blue Ridge Country Club in Palmerton, Royal Order of Golden Eagles, Germansville, Onttelaune Rod & Gun Club. Survivors: Wife; daughters, Jamie L. Bachman, Megan J. and husband Dirk Boughter of Barto; grandchildren, Jacob and Cole; brothers, Richard and wife Jean Bachman, LeRoy (Lee) and wife Michelle Bachman, Charles and wife Dawn Bachman all of Slatington, Kermit and wife Joan of Gainesville, FL; sisters, Sally A. and husband Thomas Hoffner of Slatington and Nancy J. Backman of Gilchrist, TX; nieces and nephews. Services: Funeral private. Calling hours 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening, April 24, 2012 at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St., Slatington.
