Roger C. Mantz

Roger C. Mantz, 77, of Slatedale, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the beloved husband of Sally A. (Lauchnor) Mantz, whom he married on September 15, 1973. Born in Allentown on June 19, 1947, he was the son of the late Ernest Mantz and Carolyn (Kern) Mantz. A proud US Marine Corps veteran, Roger served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. He was the owner / operator of Mantz Appliance, Service & Sales, in Slatedale, for more than 40 years. An active member of the Emerald Fire Co., he was also a member of the American Legion Post 16, Slatington, Walnutport VFW, and the Slatington Lions Club.

In addition to his wife Sally, he will be lovingly remembered by sons: Brock Mantz and wife Erica of Hollywood, MD, Shawn Mantz and wife Jenn of Slatington. Roger was affectionately known as “Mister Grandfather” to his six grandchildren, Heidi, Madison, Ethan, Valerie, Colton, Kinley. 

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Contributions in Roger’s memory are suggested to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, c/o the funeral home. Harding Funeral Home, Slatington is honored to handle Roger’s arrangements.
