Ronald I. Strohl, 82, of Lehighton, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022. He was the husband of Gail (Lower) Strohl, whom he married on October 29, 1983. Born in Slatington, he was the son of the late Irwin H. & Marie H. (Mack) Strohl. Ron served his country honorably and proudly as a member of the US Army during the Korean War. He graduated from Penn State University, and then worked as an electrical engineer for AT&T. He was a 40-year member of the Slatington Masonic Lodge 440 F&AM, member of Walnutport VFW Post 7215, and the American Legion Post 16, Slatington.
In addition to his wife Gail, he is survived by children: Wanda and husband Keith Krum of Lehighton, Debbie Strohl of Slatington, Michael Lower and wife Jill of Lansford, Jeni Grimes of OR; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by 2 sons, Ronald Scott and Kyle James Strohl.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Faith Alive United Methodist Church, 678 Pine Street, Palmerton, PA 18071. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11AM. Burial with military honors to follow at Towamensing Cemetery, Palmerton. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriners Hospital or Disabled American Veterans Charity c/o the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care of Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
