Ruth Gaston

Ruth A. Gaston, 94 formerly of Walnutport died Sunday March 2, 2014 at Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehab Center, Lehighton. She was the wife of the late Monroe Gaston. Born in Walnutport, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Cora (Benninger) Rice. Ruth worked for the former Paris Neckware for many years. She was a member of Christ UCC, Walnutport. Ruth was formerly active with the Diamond Fire Co, Auxiliary, and the Walnutport Senior Citizens.

Survivors: Son; Charles "Nup"쳌 Gaston of Walnutport. Daughter; Grace and husband James Williams of Slatington. 13 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren. Sister-in-laws; Noreen Rice & Mae Rice. Ruth was predeceased by children James Gaston, Laure Gates, and Mae Benner, and also siblings Gilbert, Irving, and Clarence Rice, Arlene Kroboth, Mamie Merkel, Helen Blose and Florence Derome.

Services: 11AM Thursday March 6, 2014 Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington P. Calling hour 10-11AM at the funeral home. Interment will be private at Union Cemetery, Slatington.
