Ruth George

Ruth G. George, 88, formerly of Slatington, died May 15, 2009 in Fellowship Manor. She was the wife of the late Stanley P. George. Born in Slatington, she was the daughter of the late George and Kathryn (Jones) Roberts. Ruth was employed by the former Paris Neckwear, Walnutport, as a floor worker. She was a member of United Presbyterian Church, Slatington, where she taught Sunday school and also played the organ. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Walnutport Senior Citizens and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors: Son, Peter D. George and his wife, Annette, of Slatington; daughter, Kathryn, wife of Glenn Kistler, of Matthews, N.C.; grandchildren, Todd, Kelly, Pete and Erin; great-grandchildren, Jay and Jordan; brother, Donald Robert of Walnutport. Services: will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 19 in the Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St., Slatington. Calling hour 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home.
