Ruth Jones

Ruth M. Jones, 92, of Emerald passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.   She was the wife of the late William J. Jones, Jr., who passed away in 2018.  Born in Elizabeth, NJ on September 7, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Florence (Saxton) Wilday.   Ruth worked as the office manager for her husband’s business, William J. Jones Excavating.
She is survived by sons: William J. Jones, III and wife Debra of Walnutport, William F. Miller and wife Sally Fritzinger of Ft. Meyers, FL, Raymond C. Miller and wife Cynthia of Walnutport; daughters: Eva Jones of Walnutport, Kathryn Hunsicker and companion Robert Zarayko of Emerald; son-in-law: Allen Gruber; Grandchildren: Laurie, Rachel, Mark, Allen, Ivory, Lory, Joshua, Andrew, Victoria, Robert, Nicole; many great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by sisters: Marion Haungs and Alice Baker; children: John A Miller and Ruth Gruber; son in law: Jay Beil; grandchildren: Rodnie Gruber.
A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington.   Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11AM at the funeral home.   In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Ruth’s name to the American Heart Association, 968 Postal Rd, #110, Allentown PA 18109 or Alzheimer’s Association 617 Main St A, Hellertown, PA 18055.
