Shirley B. Benninger, 69, of Walnutport, passed away October 20, 2009, in Blue Mountain Health Care System, Palmerton. She was the wife of Donald Benninger, they celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary this past March. Born in Walnutport, she was the daughter of the late Melvin & Stella I. (Borger) Fatzinger. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Cherryville. Shirley enjoyed gardening and card playing.

Survivors: Husband, children, Donald Jr. & his wife Sanday Benninger, Claudia Benninger & her fiancée Steve Faust, Todd & his wife Annette Benninger, grandson, Jeremy. Shirley was predeceased by her grandson Justin Thomas on July 1, 2007.

Services: 2:00pm, Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Hope Lutheran Church, 4131 Lehigh Dr., Cherryville. Calling, Saturday, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm in the church.

Arrangements: Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd St., Slatington
